The Challenge

The Flemish government and OVAM want to reduce the total amount of waste from households and enterprises with 15% in 2020 in comparison with 2012.

OVAM reached out to i-propeller and Oksigen Lab to get a better insight in how stakeholders in the whole chain could contribute to this. In the coaching trajectory we made clear under which conditions, with which risks, diverse actors – with sometimes contradictory interests in this complex field – could support this waste reduction objective.

Our approach

Oksigen Lab and i-propeller developed a strategic framework in which the contours were suggested for the sequel of UMBHA, based on  workshops with OVAM and stakeholders, bilateral stakeholder meetings, desk research.

Our coaching trajectory ended when the detailed writing of the sequel of the policy note could start. This detailed writing took place in subgroups per theme in close collaboration with the concerned and very engaged stakeholders.
